Recoverable liquid-expansion packer is a kind of rubber that can be expanded in liquid contact with oil-based/water-based media, and the oil-water molecules enter into the rubber through capillary diffusion and surface adsorption and other physical actions, forming a strong binding force with some molecules in the polymer, and the molecular structure in the rubber will undergo elastic deformation after continuously absorbing the media. When the anti-deformation force and the permeability pressure of the medium reach a relative balance, the deformation reaches a stable state, that is, the effect of expansion plugging and sealing is achieved.
Structure
The recyclable liquid expansion packer mainly consists of an upper joint, a central pipe, an upper fixed end joint, a sealing element, and a lower fixed end joint.

The recoverable liquid expandable packer can expand continuously, track the changes of the well bore and repair itself. It is suitable for high temperature and high pressure wells and is easy to install. The fluid-expansive packer is often used in intelligent completion, screen completion, gravel packing, stimulation and injection increase, water separation and oil recovery and other various completion schemes.
